WheelShare to launch in the City on May 13

The late 2018 scooter and bike share pilot program was viewed as a success by City Council and general public. Recently, changes to city ordinance led the City Council to sign a contract with LIME to return to Spokane.

Here are the changes that affect downtown

  • Helmets are not required if riding a bike or scooter provided by a shared mobility app in downtown. Bike and scooter vendors will no longer be required to offer helmets, only encourage riders to use them.
  • Scooters are not allowed on downtown sidewalks and will need to be used on roadways.

The scooters will arrive in downtown next week on May 13, in time for the busy spring and summer events. For more information on the bike share program and shared mobility project visit the link below.
