Whitworth to Dedicate the Dana & David Dornsife Health Sciences Building

Tuesday, April 5, 2022

Whitworth President Scott McQuilkin will be joined by members of the Whitworth Board of Trustees for the dedication of the new Dana & David Dornsife Health Sciences Building on Thursday, April 21, at 3:15 p.m.

Members of the Whitworth community are invited to attend. A brief program will be followed by self-guided tours.

This fall, students enrolled in the new physical therapy and occupational therapy doctoral programs, as well as the master of science in athletic training program, will begin to take classes in this 38,000-square-foot facility.

The building includes a motion-analysis research lab, exercise physiology labs, anatomy labs, simulation labs, dedicated classroom and functional lab spaces to support the unique needs of each of its health programs, and an interprofessional practice clinic.

The building is named in honor of international philanthropists and humanitarians Dana and David Dornsife, who pledged $10 million in 2020 to support Whitworth’s health science programs. This was the largest single gift ever given to the university.

“The dedication of the Dornsife Building is a moment five years in the making, one that we have been so anxious to celebrate,” McQuilkin says. “The launch of our OTD and DPT programs, housed in a state-of-the-art facility, is truly a momentous achievement.”

The new facility reflects Whitworth’s commitments to quality, accessibility and environmental sustainability, as well as support for its faculty, staff and students.
