WSU Health Sciences Checkup | October 2024

Thursday, October 17, 2024

Fall is a time of year when we celebrate our alums and their incredible achievements, both personal and professional. Two-thirds of WSU’s network of 240,000 alumni live across Washington, and in the past decade, 6,000 have graduated from WSU Spokane. Most of these alums hail from our health sciences undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. They can be found in busy urban hospitals and small rural clinics or in classrooms, board rooms, and labs, teaching the next generation, leading change in their organization, or seeking the next health breakthrough.

No matter where they are, Cougs are known for their resilience and care for others. Over the past few months, we honored alums during our College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences Crimson Gala, highlighted the accomplishments of the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine’s first class of MD graduates, and witnessed Coug Nurse Audra Podruzny save a life while flying back from vacation with her family. The stories of our alumni in action are countless, and the impact is immeasurable.

Whether you join us in Pullman for a football weekend, participate in a watch party, or attend a college celebration, I hope you have a chance to feel that energy and Coug spirit that comes from being part of our community this fall.

Go Cougs!
