Help share the City's Climate Planning Survey

Friday, January 31, 2025

As part of the upcoming update to Spokane’s Comprehensive Plan, due in 2026, the City of Spokane is embarking on a transformative journey to incorporate climate planning and resiliency into the community’s 20-year vision. The changing climate and extreme weather events affect everyone, regardless of age, background, or income – from reduced recreational activities to increasing utility bills during the summer and winter months. By proactively addressing climate risks and vulnerabilities, we can protect our community, preserve our environment, and promote equity and justice through the creation of citywide policies. As the beginning of our community engagement efforts on this project, we have launched a survey to collect a diversity of ideas and opinions about climate and the environment so we can learn from lived experiences here in Spokane.

The survey is open now through January 31, 2025 and is available in English, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, Arabic, and Marshallese. Survey responders are also eligible to win one of ten $50 gift cards as a thank you for sharing their time with us.

If interested in helping spread the word about the survey, we have flyers and a social media graphic that can be distributed:

Direct links to the survey are available on the Climate Planning webpage, at my.spokanecity.org/climateplanning.

Thank you in advance for sharing the survey so we can hear from a wide range of residents and visitors to Spokane. Please reach out if you have any questions or would like to collaborate more during the Climate Planning project.
