Support The Black Lens
Saturday, January 18, 2025

Greetings Community!
Happy New Year! I would like to express my gratitude to everyone for their patience as we continue to enhance the capacity and infrastructure of The Black Lens to serve as a voice of our community. We relaunched The Black Lens in February 2024, and it has been an eventful year. We hope you share our sentiment that the paper is improving every month and that you are enjoying the fresh perspectives shared by the new voices writing about life in the community.
As we approach the first anniversary of our relaunch, we remain steadfast in upholding Ms. Sandy Williams’ vision for The Black Lens. Our mission is to inform, educate, celebrate, and unite our community while also shedding light on persistent inequities. As a publication representing only 2% of the Spokane population, The Black Lens holds immense significance for the Black community. However, we aspire to be a unifying force for the entire community, fostering connections and empowering individuals as we strive to create a community where everyone can thrive.
To kick off 2025, we kindly request your financial support to help us further elevate The Black Lens as a community catalyst, connector, and local grassroots publication.
We would be grateful if you would consider making a donation to our giving campaign. Your support will be incredibly valuable as we rebuild our subscription, delivery, and advertising processes, and expand the reach of our local writers. We eagerly anticipate another productive year ahead.
Please take some time to review the past year in the video below. It has been a remarkable journey:
