WSU Health Sciences selected as member of ARPA-H Investor Catalyst and Customer Experience networks

Washington State University Health Sciences was recently selected as a spoke for the Investor Catalyst Hub and Customer Experience Hub, regional hubs of ARPANET-H, a nationwide health innovation network launched by the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H). Spokes within the network include academia, nonprofits, government, industry, and other organizations with dynamic expertise in health and medicine.
WSU’s commitment to advancing health science innovations and research that benefit Washingtonians and the global community aligns with the two hubs’ focus on creating local, regional, and national partnerships to deliver scalable healthcare solutions for all.
“Our community-based education and engagement gives us a unique view of the practical challenges to delivering the best possible care. This perspective allows us to advise and collaborate on improving processes, technology, and innovations within the two hubs,” said Craig Parks, associate vice president of WSU Health Sciences.
WSU Health Sciences joins a nationwide network of organizations working to improve health outcomes through research in the following focus areas: health science futures, proactive health, scalable solutions, and resilient systems.
“Our vibrant spoke network reflects a diverse range of experts with a shared commitment to closing gaps in innovation and health equity,” said Chelsea Schiller, director of the Investor Catalyst Hub. “By building connections between our network and ARPA-H programs, we can help speed up the transition of innovative ideas into equitable health solutions for all.”
As a spoke member for the two hubs, WSU Health Sciences gains access to potential funding and flexible contracting for faster award execution than traditional government contracts. Spoke membership also offers opportunities for WSU Health Sciences researchers to share their expertise on ARPA-H challenge areas and priorities, as well as access to valuable partnership opportunities.
Currently, WSU is the only Washington state academic institution selected as a spoke for the Customer Experience Hub and one of two state institutions selected for the Investor Catalyst Hub.
