GALLERY HOURS: Fridays 12:00 – 8:00 PM, except day of the exhibit opening: Saturdays 12:00 – 8:00 PM
East Gallery Exhibition: “Tiny Pieces- Big Picture”, curated by SAP member and president Mariah Boyle.
Artists include: Heather Bellerud, Krista Brand, Jessie Street, and May Kytonen, and Mariah Boyle
Mariah Boyle, curator and SAP president, liked how each artist paid special attention to small, fine details in each work and thought it important that the care for all the small areas of the art expanded to create a cohesive larger shape, whole, or visual composition. Tactile considerations, textural exploration, mixed materials, patterns, and abstraction run throughout the selected works.

In the artist’s words, “The work that I am presenting is about statements that don’t really need to be said. That is obvious. I wanted to add some more to this statement, actually even more than that it’s about knowing something and not expressing it to other people so people understand what you know. That it is obvious. It’s kind of a weird thing; it’s part of the duh factor. Why wouldn’t you know that? Why won’t you see it for what it is? You make me feel stupid. Because I know that. But I don’t know what you know.
