(May 2019 update)

The publicly-informed scoping for the Sprague Avenue Phase II project has concluded (see results here) and Engineering Design will officially begin.

The project scope generally includes a 3-lane roadway section (one vehicle lane in each direction with a two-way left turn lane).  Parking will be retained on each side of the roadway.  The space gained by removing one travel lane will be used to improve parking, sidewalk, and travel lane widths.

The construction of this street will include water, sewer, and stormwater utility work.  Construction starts spring of 2019.  The 2019 construction project will target Scott Street to Grant Street.  Construction from Grant Street to Division Street will take place in 2020.  The remainder of Sprague Avenue through downtown will see construction over the next six years.

The construction of other projects along Sprague Avenue have been coordinated with the Scott to Grant Street project.  Work will begin on the Grind and Overlay Project from Scott Street to Helena Street in early spring 2019.  Construction of the Sherman Plaza will start this fall and is expected to be completed in spring of 2019.

With the transfer to Design, the new project lead will be Jonathan Adams.  He may be reached at jradams@spokanecity.org or by phone at 509-625-6700.  Jonathan will be reaching out to property owners to verify design details associated with driveways, sidewalk vaults, utility updates, etc.
